Today marks 75 years since Chester Gould’s steely-eyed detective first entered the newspapers to fight increasingly odd-looking criminals, and comic strips are marking the occasion. Check out Gasoline Alley, Brewster Rocket, Gil Thorp, The Wizard of Id, Loose Parts, Shoe, Rubes, and Dick Tracy’s own strip. Any others I missed?
