“Player”
(to the tune of “Dentist!” from “Little Shop of Horrors”)
by Ziv Gur-Arye
When I was younger, just a brat girl then
My momma noticed my effect on men
Like getting straight A’s just by wearing short skirts
Or get the boys do all of my chores
I’d go shopping, though I never paid
And so my momma said (what did she say?)
She said: my girl, I hope someday,
You’ll stop your play,
And find a husband that our bills will pay
Cause you’re meant for marriage (you’re meant for marriage)
That’s the career that for you I’ve picked
You’re meant for marriage (you’re meant for marriage)
Hopefully to one man you will stick (you’ll really love it)
Your temper got you thrown from pre-school
And stitching won’t suit you, my lass
Give your hand in marriage
And fix our finance
Here he is girl, Haymer Durran
Got a private estate in Bellerophon
He is so wealthy, he lives among clouds
Just go and meet him, make your momma proud
So I go, work my charm
In a week, to wedlock, here we come
But I’m a player (She is a player)
Playing Yolanda just wasn’t enough
I am a player (living to play ’em)
Lying and cheating just makes me get off (she really loves it)
I thrill when I get men’s affection (her action)
Guess mom should have given me more attention
And though I make all my husbands distress
I know that somewhere, in heaven above me
Mom should be proud, she made a bride of me
on few occasions
Cause I may be a player
But a bride no less
Say hi (hi)
I do (I do)
Bah-bye (bye?)
Now split!
