UPDATED: The contest has changed; no registration necessary. Read on!
So, QMx hired Adam from BlackMarketBeagles.com to create some stunning posters advertising places around the ‘verse, which Adam, being a freaking genius, did. And one of them was named “Londinum,” just as it was listed in the script for the pilot episode “Serenity” and in every scrap of background material that could be verified. And it was good. And after it was printed, even Joss said it was good.
He also said it was supposed to be “Londinium.”
Which meant that QMx had a print run with a misprinted poster. They offered 300 of them to the California Browncoats to sell at the San Diego Comic Con and they sold quite well indeed. And they made a corrected print run and sold those, and they also sold very well indeed. And now you have a variety of options available to you, the discerning Browncoat. You can buy the official Blue Sun Travel Poster set (with the “Londinium” poster)at TFAW.com or at QMx. You can buy the one of the original misprint sets from TFAW.com, but they only have a few left, if any. QMx is now offering just the misprint poster by itself as a limited edition art print in case you want all the posters and don’t want to buy two whole sets.
Or you can win one of the hard-to-find misprint sets right here from SerenityStuff.com and TFAW.com. I’m giving one away at midnight EST September 15, and all you have to do to enter is to comment on something here at SerenityStuff.com. Anything, really. Just post a comment somewhere and I’ll draw from those names at random. Please use an e-mail address that will actually get back to you, as that’s how I’ll be contacting the winner. Your info will not be used for any other purpose. US and Canada only, please, unless you’re willing to pop for postage.
The Blue Sun Travel Poster set contains 5 full-color, 17? x 22? prints on 100-pound, satin-finish paper. Included in the set are posters inviting you to travel to historic Serenity Valley, tranquil Miranda, exciting Persephone, beautiful Sihnon and awe-inspiring Londinum.
For those interested – I did change the comments to Registered User Only, only to find that my particular combination of WordPress and my ISP don’t get along in the automatic e-mail realm. But Andy from QMx suggested I try Askimet, a spam filter designed to work with WP, and so far it’s been great. 2,072 spam comments stopped in the last day or so. Woo hoo! So, thanks to everyone who did register, but it won’t be necessary.
And I moved the contest deadline up because a) I get bored easily and b) I’ve got more stuff to give away and didn’t want to wait.
Ah, there we go.
Actually, it’s looking like the confirmation e-mails aren’t going out. Sigh. I just opened it back up until I can figure out what the problem is.
Can you make another post on the site when it’s working again then? I like the sound of winning these things, and I’m not sure why I haven’t yet registered anyway.
Oh, and:
“now you have to register to post comments”
I’m not sure it’s working.
I really don’t have a problem registering on sites that I trust. I tried to register, but like you said, it’s not working. Just let us know if we need to do it again.
I don’t think I needed to log in in order to post this, though I -did- register.
I’m also having trouble registering.
No trouble posting this comment, though.
Best of luck trying to fix it… I’m itchin’ to win some posters!
Once you get it to work, I’ll be glad to register. I tried to already but it didn’t work. Maybe you can get it to work on your end? Can I e-mail you directly so you can send me a log in password? Hopefully the system will work soon.
Um, never mind my question on the post following this one. That’ll teach me not to check for comments. Sorry!
Glad to see that I’m not the only one having the registration problem….I thought that my e-mail site was eating them for a while.
Good luck with the getting it to work. (Will our old registrations work, or will we have to re-register?) Fingers crossed that it works out soon. 🙂
