Finally got enough sun in our rainy season to get an outside pic. Here my wife Teresa is drawing down on her station wagon. I probably don’t want to know why.
And here she’s swinging it around to me. I think it’s time to go do that thing I’ve been putting off that of course I completely remembered.
Head back here for my full review and more pics, and don’t forget to head to QMx on October 20th when they go on sale.
Added: Les Howard from “The Signal” posted in the comments below links to his own pics of the Mal stunt pistol, and a quick description:

BWAH!
It had to be said 🙂

Thanks for posting new pics. There has been some question about the finish of the pistol and weather or not it looks like plastic. From reading the description on QMx, the fabrication process should leave a thin layer of metal on the surface that is then buffed. Since you have actually handled the product and it is hard to tell from the pics, is the look and feel of the surface metal, or does it in fact look like plastic? Does it have a cool metal feel to it?
Thanks
jim
It does feel cool to the touch. As for the look – it depends on the light, which is why I’ve tried to get pics with several different lighting sources. Under a flash or fluourescent lighting it looks more plasticy, but then so does actual metal. Under natural light it looks amazing.
Also, the weight makes a difference. If it was as heavy as a real pistol, you would think it looked and felt like metal. Since it’s lighter, your mind knows that it can’t be, if that makes sense. It looks at least as good as any resin replica I’ve ever seen in person.
I am also fortunate enough to have one of the production samples of the pistol replica. I am working up a review for a future episode of The Signal. The surfaces do look metallic, but not with the brushed reflective finish you would hope for – more of a dull metallic surface. For now, you can see some images of my sample over on Flickr:

Probably said this before, but I will say this again: Curse you. My credit card curses you. And my financial manager (otherwise known as “wife”) curses you.
That thing, “low-grade” model or not, looks gorgeous.
